strategies for gencon

gencon vs. money

so...

bought my ticket for four days.

i will be there august 15-18th no doubt...

well ok. i won't be there on sunday i don't think...

but everything is coming along swimmingly

pretty soon i will be working on sleeping arrangements at hotels or motels or bus-stations.

looked at several possibilities on what to do while i am there.

they have a variety of things that i could do with my game. exhibit it, sell it, merchandise it, shop it...

here is an idea of their price bracket.

so, i could show it off for $31.50 an hour in the place where i would be gaming it for eight hours...

that sounds like the most fun...

but the $250 chunk is a bit steep in my (poor) opinion.

"Frowny Face!"

but wait! here's an idea!

i could go out and just set up a table with a bunch of cool posters and flyers and free cards and sit around and tell people about it while i sip on a tasty cool beverage and surf the web or design cards in front of people!

wait...

again the money has me at an advantage.

US$1,600 just to taunt you with the games awesomeness is probably something that i won't be doing any time soon...

just to let you know:

if i had money, i would probably just pay someone to help me make more cards...

this game is awesome enough the way it is progressing that i don't think i need to invest THAT MUCH just yet...

so. here you get to see pauly play a strategy card in real life.

here is my plan:

go to gencon.

CHECK.

be armed with a free "gamer" card that will only be released at gencon.

CHECK.

hand out this card to people wandering around the first day while wearing an empires and generals t-shirt.

CHECK!

hopefully they ignore me due to this:

and this

don't get kicked out!

CHECK!
so then i watch people start playing on their own.

CHECK.

no showbilling shenanigans.

so i will be blogging and filming some there, i will put it up as soon as wi-fi becomes handy...

hope to see you there, and we can find a place to play!
